By Their Side: Legal Support for Children and Youth

M’Lop Tapang’s Child Protection program works across several areas: prevention through community education; response and rescue in collaboration with local authorities; direct support for victims; and advocacy for children’s rights. Helping a child navigate the justice system is one part of that broader work. The 52 cases in this report are the ones that proceeded to formal court proceedings between 2021 and 2025; they represent a fraction of the children and families the Child Protection team supports each year, most of whom are helped without ever needing to go to court.
